A creepy classic! A young college student Nan Barlow visits the village of Whitewood, Massachusetts to do some research into New England witchcraft. Her tutor, Professor Alan Driscoll (Christopher Lee), recommends the Raven's Inn, run by a Mrs. Newless. Nan finds the town loaded with low-hanging fog and occupied by the reincarnation of an infamous witch burned at the stake in the 17th century. This movie is also known as "City of the Dead."

| Customer Comments | | Reviewer: anonymous on 07/13/06 | | | Horror Hotel is a horror film that seems to mirror the style of some of H.P. Lovecraft?s writings. Taking place in the eerie and incredibly misty town of Whitewood Massachusetts, Nan Barlow searches for any lost or hidden history about witchcraft. She quickly finds that the residents are both evasive and hostile to outsiders. It is very clear from the first minutes she arrives in Whitewood that there is something very strange going on and that she found much more than she could handle. The first half of the movie is her search for witchcraft and the second half is her relatives looking for her after she is gone so long. The supernatural forces of the town seem to be overwhelming but there is no face to this power until the end of the movie. This movie is very creepy but is rather aged and might not be stimulating for more demanding horror fans. Horror Hotel is unsettling and mysterious but doesn?t have the physical horror of many other blood and guts horror films. |
